It was an excellent day on Tuesday in Washington, DC at the Almo Professional A/V E4 AV Tour event, a very well attended event in Tysons, VA. Melody Craigmyle, Vice President of Marketing, Pro A/V Division at Almo Professional A/V opened the event as always, followed by Amanda Eberle Boyer, Sr Director of Member Services at AVIXA. Gary Kayye was the opening keynote speaker with his presentation “An Unbiased Explanation of AV over IP.”
Two onsite podcasts were arranged – one that I conducted with Sam Taylor and Melody Craigmyle as we discussed the event in DC as well as a look forward to Dallas in April (and Sam told a great Joe Theismann story), and another with Rob Ziv and Michael Frank (below) as we talked about Almo’s partnership with Biamp and their Devio audio and video conferencing and collaboration solution.
Afterward came the show floor and visits with numerous exhibitors that were present, showing products and solutions in a setting that is ideal for the integrators and consultants to see up-close technologies on the market that were brought to ISE, and some maybe brought for the first time to any AV venue. Being a former commercial integration sales person, a good amount of what I saw made me say “if I only had this back in my integration days…”
Here are some of those exhibitor interviews:
Almo Connect (www.almoproav.com/connect)
NEC Display Solutions (www.necdisplay.com)
ATEN (www.aten.com) – products and HDBaseT Certification training (presented by YT Liang)
Closing Keynote: Washington Redskins Hall of Fame Quarterback Joe Theismann
At the end of the day was the closing keynote with Washington Redskins football legend Joe Theismann. Joe talked about some of his all-time great football moments (including a very funny punting story), and interweaved with this messaging on various business topics, including customer service. One of his great lines of the afternoon:
People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.
The perfect ender to a terrific Almo E4 AV Tour event in Washington, DC. Make sure you register for the April 24th event in Dallas, TX.
