Wallace and Gina in-podcast

We begin the “Leadership Series” on The AV Life with two industry influencers, Gina who with her known work in AV and the education market, has also been an important part of efforts for women in the industry through the Women of InfoComm Network (WIN) and co-coordinating (with Control Concepts’ Dayna Baumann) the New York City region group. Wallace, a 2017 AVIXA Young AV Professional, along with being VP at MertzCrew and an industry live events expert, is also the Chair of the AVIXA Live Event Council.

Along with discussion of what’s happening at their companies, there’s intro conversation with Gina and Wallace about leadership roles. Gina talks about being appointed to the Consortium of College and University Media Centers (CCUMC) Board of Directors, and she was also picked for a profile on the AV Insider Spotlight. Wallace wrote an article Working Effectively With the Next-Gen Workforce for SCN and we discuss that as well.

There was a also social media conversation led by Megan and Jen (just before the TierPM.com Hot Jobs). In the second half, Gina and Wallace talked about being at the InfoComm/AVIXA rebrand meeting in Virginia on September 13th along with many industry people from across the world, along with their thoughts on the rebrand as well as the new industry organization direction. There’s a direct focus on the “IX” in AVIXA in this discussion as well. Both then expand on their industry leadership roles, Gina as co-coordinator of the WIN (soon to be re-named) NYC metro chapter and Wallace as Chair of the AVIXA Live Event Council (Megan our live events expert handles that discussion which include InfoComm show talk). There’s also a good SaaS discussion led by Wallace (from another article that was discussed).

Two well-known industry leaders (and #AVtweeps) appear with us on this episode, and there will be more to come.

Sit back, plug in, enjoy the show and live…
