A brand new season of The AV Life begins with the new Crew III – Katye McGregor Bennett, Justin Watts and Megan Powers (all a part of Crew II) are back, along with the new Crew members (they’ll be joining us next time). The show begins with Margot and Megan who joined us to discuss the AV industry organization (InfoComm International) re-branding news announced on June 13th about the new organization AVIXA, the AudioVisual and Integrated Experience Association. Listen in for this discussion.

Corey and the Crew then talk with the guests Rich, George and Elizabeth about what’s taking place in their world. Elizabeth talks about what she does, Rich talks about a few things taking place at NEC Display Solutions of America including his new role at the company, and he also talks about NY Digital Signage Week coming up at the end of October. George talks about numerous developments at FSR, including technology that the company offers in-line with the latest Apple phone announcement. George also talks about a special delicacy that was discussed on another podcast a while back, some of you may know what that is.

Jen does a new segment that focuses on social media marketing as she is one of the co-hosts of the ‘Making a Marketer’ podcast (with Elizabeth and Megan Powers). After that Corey talks with Rich about NEC Display Solutions and Mercy Ships, International Hospital Ships providing free lifesaving surgeries for people where medical care is nearly non-existent. Elizabeth talks about charity efforts involving company connections and donations. George then talks about his Twitter efforts with AVGivesBack, which many in the AV industry know (the description: Helping Others Help Others – The Twitter home for #AVGivesBack Where members of the AV/IT/ICT Industries share our charities & community service projects. Jen then talks about using Twitter for such efforts like what AVGivesBack does.
