OK, I’ll admit it, we’re not the big guys. Convergent AV, started up by myself in November 2016 along with some industry professionals who joined me at that time as well as along the way, has come on the scene as an online publication dedicated to providing podcasts, news and blogs for the global audio visual industry. We are a dedicated group of industry people, along with a very bright mechanical engineering student with a passion for robotics and AI.

Some of the well-known people, #AVTweeps in the industry, have worked with me from the start, and others have joined along the way. KMB Communications CEO and Chief Strategist Katye McGregor Bennett, who has been a long-time podcasting partner of mine, is my partner on (as well as one of the driving forces behind) our main industry podcast The AV Life.  Justin Watts, a new member of the AVI Systems team, has been another long-time partner of mine, and he has just recently joined us to re-form the Crew trio that’s been podcasting together for quite some time. Megan “The Marketer” Powers has been a tremendous addition to the Crew from the beginning and Alesia Hendley, who is Editor at Convergent AV, has brought her own “brand” of talent to the team as well. Our newest member, AV industry professional Ruben Romero, is also a columnist for the publication. Here is his latest blog Form and Function: BYOD, Five Years Later.

Our secret weapon? That would be Taylor (Robo) Meyer who is a mechanical engineering student at Iowa State University, as well as an Outreach Coordinator for the Cyclone Space Mining team at the university.

As for coverage, our team includes myself, Alesia Hendley, Taylor Meyer and Ruben Romero who will travel the show floor visiting with the exhibitors to see the latest that the great world of audio visual has to offer. Want to hear about some of the exhibitors and what they have in store for the show? Check out The Show Corner (one with a Center Stage presenter as well).

We will be looking to do a few different things at the show, including “Crew Spots” where members of The AV Life team will be in different places on the exhibit floor (and possibly other places) over the three days. There will be contests as well, all to be announced. Make sure you follow @The_AVLife, and the #CrewSpots hashtag at the show.

We look forward to seeing everyone at InfoComm 2017 in Orlando!
