This InfoComm 2017 show conversation is with Dr. Thomas Osborne, Director of Research at MEDNAX, Director of Medical Informatics at vRad (Virtual Radiologic) who will be speaking at the new InfoComm 2017 Center Stage. Dr. Osborne’s presentation, We ARE Saving Lives Here – How the Future of Healthcare Depends on AV Technology is being given on June 15th at 3:00-3:20 PM.
I speak with Tom about what he does in the medical field, as well as how he became a part of the Center Stage program. He then discusses the field of medicine and some of the challenges and demands, to go along with the necessity of current technologies and tools in communications and collaboration. We discuss the story he will be presenting to the attendees in terms of how these tools can improve patient care, then we have a focused discussion on collaboration and tools (Tom mentions his participation at Center Stage with Prysm). Tom talks about the continued usage of older technologies, to go along with a certain resistance – and how collaboration with current technology tools, as well as building efficient workflow, can present numerous benefits for the field of medicine and patient care.
