Dave Pedigo – Vice President, Emerging Technologies at CEDIA
Alex Capecelatro – CEO at Josh.ai
On this episode Katye and Corey talk with their guests about participation at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2017. Dave talks about such topics as CEDIA education at the show, residential integrators and the network, integrators and the types of business that they do and more. Alex talks about his participation at ISE, voice control for the whole home, and he also discusses AI and the truly smart home.
Katye inquires about the subject of recurring monthly revenue (RMR), and Alex talks about RMR with Josh as a bonus for the residential integrator. Dave adds in how RMR brings true value and opportunity for business growth. Corey and Dave also target some discussion on an integrator building the business based on certain takeaways, especially from the trade show.
Katye asks Dave about the CEDIA Technology Council and Corey also asks Dave about the CEDIA roadmap for 2017. They talk about the hard work of the people at CEDIA, the level of commitment and passion that the CEDIA volunteers give, and Dave also talks about a few of the influential people for CEDIA as well.
Katye and Dave talk about the traffic and travel “experience” in Amsterdam during the show (think taxis and out of control bicyclists). Corey and Dave (who lives in Indiana), have also shared a certain geographic traffic experience in the Washington D.C. area (where Corey lives and Dave used to), and Dave makes a request (plea?) to the AV public of where not to move – one you have to hear.
And finally, what is a final post-ISE episode without talking about stroopwafels. Katye is in the process of taste-testing certain brands, and more are coming her way. If you’re a stroopwafel fan, you have to check this conversation out (with a press release from one of the stroopwafel makers).
So – sit back, plug in, put your feet up (like one of our guests did) and live…
